About the ERA Coalition & Fund for Women’s Equality

The Fund for Women’s Equality (FFWE), a 501(c)(3), and its sister organization the ERA Coalition, a 501(c)(4), seeks a dynamic, experienced Communications and Content Assistant to support this national organization, which works to educate and build a diverse coalition fighting to publish the Equal Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and implement full sex equality under the law. We center the voices of marginalized people and communities — women of color (African American, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Latina, and Native American), gender-nonconforming and transgender women and girls, and nonbinary people — both as a matter of justice and because we trust deeply that these are the leaders who are poised to win.

This is a high-profile position at a critical moment in the fight for full equality and gender and racial justice which supports our work nationally, on Capitol Hill, in the White House, and across other sectors of government, as well as in corporate and nonprofit sectors.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and disseminate written and visual digital content for blog, emails, website, and newsletters
  • Contribute to writing, editing, and proofing of communication materials
  • Support communications work, web content updates, and other projects including developing multimedia content as needed (photo/video)
  • Build SEO-optimized content in WordPress CMS, and update evergreen content based on SEO needs, timeliness, and new action alerts
  • Analyze traffic reports to identify trends and make content decisions based on data
  • Support the ongoing efforts of other content contributors
  • Complete special projects as assigned


  • 0–2 years experience managing web content
  • Experience with content management and content writing and editing, creating and implementing a content strategy
  • Working knowledge of the WordPress CMS, HTML, CSS, and webpage creation preferred
  • Experience in producing and distributing email blasts
  • Experience in proofreading content for accuracy, clarity, grammar, style, and spelling
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities. Ability to review analytical data for messaging vehicles to report metrics on dashboard spreadsheets
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work in a collaborative fashion, and effective time management skills in prioritizing and addressing multiple demands
  • Willingness and comfort learning new technologies and platforms, including Salsa Labs, MeltWater PR software, and more
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong writing and content development skills
  • Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices
  • Skilled in Adobe Photoshop, Canva or other graphics programs
  • Ability to adhere to branding guidelines – Maintain messaging and branding consistency across online platforms
  • Ability to prioritize and problem-solve while handling multiple tasks
  • Commitment to the mission of the ERA/FFWE
  • Comfortable working in multicultural settings, and promoting workplace and feminist values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
  • Sense of humor

Compensation: Full time, $45,000 commensurate with experience.

Benefits: The ERA Coalition/FFWE currently offers 100% paid health insurance for employees or up to $400 a month reimbursement for other health insurance premiums paid directly by or on behalf of an employee. Also provided are paid holidays, vacation, sick, parental leave, and short-term disability and workers compensation insurance.
