Giving Thanks

This morning we all got teary in the office when we read this note from a donor responding to our upcoming Gen Z town Hall:

I sent $48 representing the number of years I have been involved in this fight.

It brings tears to my eyes to know that Gen Z has taken up the banner and will see it through!

Continue your good work!

Sisterhood is powerful!

We are so grateful for the gift, the words, and the work.

And to all, on the eve of our time of giving thanks, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for all of the support you are giving to the ERA Coalition and our work to amend the Constitution.

As you may know, we are centering our work on those most impacted by systemic gender and racial injustice, including women of color and Indigenous people. For many Native Americans, the Thanksgiving holiday is a time to celebrate family and community but also a time of reflection and mourning.  Many still contend with the trauma of the genocide of millions of their people, the theft of their land, and the erasure of their history. Their resilience is an inspiration to our commitment towards an equal future.

We know that our next generation is committed to equality. In reference to our thank you note this morning, here is the invitation to our Gen Z Town Hall, which is being organized by our interns: Aminat Sanusi, Eleanor Tapping, Aryana Goodarzi, and Eliana Hoffman.

Please join us as we discuss prevalent issues such as Gen Z’s involvement in the fight for the Equal Rights Amendment, Gen Z’s activism through social media, and social justice and equality.

The Panelists are:

  • Caleb Simmons, Foundation Director of Athletes4chnges
  • Rosie Couture, Executive Director of Generation Ratify
  • Hailey Dickinson, 4th District Representative for the Minnesota Youth Council
  • Jude Schroeder, ERA Activist
  • Jules Heningburg, Premier Lacrosse League Player
  • Aminat Sanusi, Intern for the ERA Coalition, will serve as Moderator

We hope to see you there.

In Solidarity,

Carol Jenkins

Please consider making a donation today to help us continue our work towards equality for all.
