(January 30, 2020) Washington, D.C. — The ERA Coalition and Fund for Women’s Equality welcomes the legal action of Attorney General Mark Herring of Virginia, Attorney General Kwame Raoul of Illinois and Attorney General Aaron Ford of Nevada to support constitutional equality for women. The legislators and advocates in these three states have brought us to this historic moment in time.
Richmond, VA — Today Virginia became the 38th state to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment. The ERA has now fulfilled the requirements of Article V of the Constitution to become an amendment. It is a momentous day for America, more than two hundred years after women were intentionally left out of the Constitution and exactly one hundred years after women achieved the right to vote through the 19th Amendment. The ERA Coalition welcomes this historic breakthrough for women.

The ERA Coalition has led this effort over the past year working with the Governor, the Legislature, and other interested parties.
(December 18, 2019) New York, NY — The filing of a lawsuit by Alabama’s Attorney-General to stop the Equal Rights Amendment is a shameful effort to keep women from gaining Constitutional equality. 94% of Americans support the ERA – 99% of millennials who all believe that it is time to end second class citizenship for women who were intentionally left out of the Constitution more than two hundred years ago.
