The ERA Coalition, an organization led by women of color, represents millions of people and more than 200 allied organizations whose common mission is to see the Equal Rights Amendment published and enacted within the United States Constitution. As we continue our fight towards the equal constitutional protections of all on account of sex, many new organizations have followed suit and joined forces to become members alongside the 280+ members of the ERA Coalition. As a show of our gratitude and continued support, we would like to take a moment to spotlight our newest members at the start of this new year!

Strike For Our Rights
Strike For Our Rights is a group of nonpartisan activists who believe in equal access to reproductive rights, a living minimum wage, universal healthcare, and common sense gun regulation. They advocate for racial justice, climate action, and equal rights for all through voting, protesting, and marching – only to be let down by our elected officials and representatives – which is why it’s time for a strike. Strike For Our Rights explains that a strike is the refusal to work and/or engage in commerce until demands are met. Too often the people who need a strike the most do not have the resources to go on strike, so Strike For Our Right’s mission is to change that – they fundraise accordingly so that those who typically cannot afford to go on strike have the resources to do so. Strike For Our Rights partnered this month with the ERA Coalition to work in an intersectional manner to best ensure safe and equal futures for all through the implementation of the Equal Rights Amendment within the U.S. Constitution.
National Birth Equity Collaborative
The National Birth Equity Collaborative (NBEC) creates transnational solutions that optimize Black maternal, infant, sexual, and reproductive wellbeing. They shift systems and culture through training, research, technical assistance, policy, advocacy, and community-centered collaboration. NBEC’s Research & Strategy Team is the backbone and heart of everything within the organization – this team of researchers and scholars work to uncover data, lead studies, publish articles, and prepare presentation materials about their findings of the ever-changing landscape of Black maternal health. The National Birth Equity Collaborative believes that change begins with education and communication, which can be strengthened through connections with other like-minded communities. Thus, NBEC is partnering today with the ERA Coalition to work alongside one another to bring voice and action to each other’s needs in the pursuit of protective equality.
National Black Justice Coalition
Since 2003, the National Black Justice Coalition (NBJC) has been America’s leading national civil rights organization dedicated to the empowerment of Black lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer+, and same gender loving (LGBTQ+/SGL) people, including people living with HIV/AIDS through coalition building, federal policy change, research, and education. Their mission is to end racism, homophobia, and LGBTQ+/SGL bias and stigma. NBJC supports Black individuals, families, and communities in strengthening the bonds and bridging the gaps between the movements for racial justice and LGBTQ+/SGL equity, and envisions a world where all people are fully empowered to participate safely, openly, and honestly in family, faith, and community, regardless of race, class, gender identity, or sexual orientation. The National Black Justice Coalition has partnered with the ERA Coalition this month to help fuel the momentum needed to finally publish and implement the Equal Rights Amendment within the U.S. Constitution.
