National Human Trafficking Awareness Day is a significant day of recognition as trafficking has a long-term impact on human lives, families and households, as well as communities across the globe. Right now, there are approximately 20 to 40 million slaves in the world, with approximately 80% of human trafficking today involving sexual exploitation, and 19% involving labor exploitation. Today’s observance of the illegal practice was implemented to raise awareness in regards to human trafficking, aid individuals and groups in identifying common signs of the practice, and reach victims with resources and support.

Earlier this Summer, the California Legislature passed two measures in response to the Equal Rights Amendment. SCR 92 directs the California Law Revision Commission to analyze the State’s laws for sex discrimination.

2022 Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) was launched nationwide in October of 1987 as a way to connect and unite individuals and organizations working in regards to domestic violence issues while raising awareness for those complexities.
