We are celebrating a sweet victory today: pro-ERA legislators have been swept into power in Virginia. Congratulations to them. We are eager to begin work on Virginia becoming the historic 38th state to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment.
This is it, Virginia. Election Day 2019–when equality for girls and women across this country can be secured. Here’s an OpEd I wrote for CNN.com. It’s in your hands today.
Tomorrow is the day Virginians go to the polls. What happens there will determine the future of girls and women across the country. There’s still time to do your part.
We are just 5 days away from what is looking to be a historic vote in Virginia–when a wave of pro-ERA legislators could be elected, leading to a yes vote in early 2020 for Virginia to become the required 38th state to ratify the ERA. There is still time to take part in the action–go to varatifyera.org/gotv/ and sign up to text or phone bank GOTV right up to Tuesday, November 5th.
A reminder today that we have just over 4 weeks, a month, until November 5th when the citizens of the ERA-critical state of Virginia will go to the polls. All legislators are up for election. And this election is as much about the Equal Rights Amendment as it is anything else.
