For the first time in history, a Black woman now sits on the Supreme Court. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson’s swearing in today is a moment to celebrate, and a reminder that we still have much work to do before we achieve true equality in this country.

Few Black women have served on the federal bench, and of course none have ever served on the highest court in the land. This historic nomination will change that.
